A 2021 NETC Symposium on the topic of transportation maintenance will be held this fall from September 28-30, 2021. Transportation agency subject matter experts and university representatives from the New England states (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont) will gather to learn, share, and discuss trending topics of interest. The multi-day symposium may include:
- “Mini” peer exchange sessions
- Roundtable discussions
- Poster presentations
- Networking opportunities
- Discussions on research ideas to solve transportation maintenance problems
Potential subtopics to be explored
A different maintenance subtopic will be held each day. Attend one, two or all three days — it’s up to you! You are encouraged to attend the sessions of most interest to you and your position.
Potential subtopics include:
– Winter road maintenance materials (liquid and solid)
– Bridge maintenance (staffing, frequency, etc.)
– Staffing (recruitment, vacancies, retention, etc.)
– Tree cutting (policies and best practices)
